Learn how to save BIG on foreign currency exchange. International transactions fee’s are a b*tch… they can cost anywhere from $10 to $200 depending on the outlet! By using an international, pre-loaded debit card you will save more than a typical credit card, BUT make sure the area you are going to not only has ATM’s but is on the list of accepted countries! Check trip advisor first!
ALSO- Airport exchange rates are a RIP OFF!! Either use your hotel (can also be expensive!) or a local bank… you will get a much lower rate!
To be honest I am big on taking my money in cash for short trips- just dividing it up amongst storage places (i.e. hand luggage, check in and wallet..) but for the bigger trips you MUST plan ahead!
Love this advice, great advice, I have noticed that banks are the best bet, the airport charges quite a bit more
