If you’re seeking for a summer of fun, there’s no better place to head then Europe. The cobbled promenades, smiling tourists and sparkling blue coastline will leave a lasting impression on all who travel there. For those of you looking for an under-30’s group setting, which is perfect to meet like-minded travellers, you should pack your bags and get on board one of my picks for the top tours in Europe this summer.
MedSailors Turkey Route
One of the best tours I have ever done was my sail trip around Turkey with MedSailors. You start and finish in the beautiful town of Fethiye, seek out secluded coves, hike ancient ruins and also learn some sailing skills while you’re at it. The skippers are young and energetic, plus the boats dock together at night, allowing you to meet 30-40 other travellers. This year, MedSailors have also announced their new Italy route, which takes you to volcanic islands, isolated beaches and the best pizzerias around.
Prices from £524 pp for 6 nights.
Travel Talk Tours Iceland Golden Circle
Iceland is one of the most diverse and interesting countries in the world. Travel Talk will take you to Iceland on a fun group tour, which includes all the major natural wonders, including Grabrok Volcano, Namaskard and Lake Myvatn. Iceland is a very expensive destination, so a group tour is a top value-for-money option. I am also super excited to announce that I will be heading on another Travel Talk Tour to Egypt, at the end of summer!
Prices from £1394 pp for 7 nights
Fanatics La Tomatina-Barcelona-Double
Spain is famed for it’s weird and wonderful festivals, from baby jumping to tomato throwing. The La Tomatina festival is one not to miss. Last year alone, more than 50,000 people headed to the Valencian town of Bunol to try their hand at the throwing. 120,000 kilos of tomatoes are provided and a huge mess follows, but one that will leave you in stitches laughing (and a little stinky). Tour company Fanatics offers group tours and accommodation with a Barcelona side trip, which is a great way to meet new friends pre-fight. There are multiple other young, fun group tours you can do, including Travel Talk, Stoke Travel and Topdeck.
Prices from £239 pp for 4 nights.
I was always a little jealous of the friends of mine who did Oktoberfest in a group tour. Private tables, a big crowd of fellow beer guzzlers and a hostel full of under 30 travellers is ideal on such a manic week. Grab your dirndle and braid your hair – you are in for a mad week of singing, dancing on tables and chanting songs in German! Try Topdeck tours or Fanatics for a sure-fire good time.
Prices from £260 pp for 4 nights.
Medexperience Athens to Split (Via Montenegro)
If you are looking to hit up some of Croatia or Greece’s summer festivals, you may need to find a way between the two countries. Why not break up travels between the two with this short tour? I personally had an incredible time and it’s so much better than flying! You will visit the monasteries of Meteroa, follow in the footsteps of the ‘300’ movie and witness the med-coast like never before.
Prices from £399 pp for 5 nights.
