Sunday Sessions of Perth- How Australians Celebrate the Weekend

Oh Sunday- a day to relax, unwind and have a couple of cheeky drinks with friends. Unique to the Perth bar scene is the ‘Sunday Session’. This happens across the city from around 3pm-9pm over summer and is the best way to experience the Aussie culture.

The best venues host a relaxed, chilled out party zone to have a few drinks and catch up with friends under the hot summer sun. But where is the top 5 places to celebrate this ‘Sunday Sesh’ in Perth?

#1 Boat Collective

What better way to chill with friends then on a boat?! The Boat Collective is Perth’s newest and best Sunday sessions with a floating bar! The interior is decked out with fake grass, crates and a cool wooden trim bar, sun deck and smokers lounge. It really is the coolest way to spend a hot summer’s day. This is truly something a little different and beyond reasonably priced- with tickets at just $20 and a meal for $8- you’re set! Get on board (see what I did there) and follow them on Facebook for more info- these guys know how to do a Sunday sesh right- plus no queue!!

#3 OBH- Ocean Beach Hotel

OBH is the ultimate Sunday session- with Cottesloe beach at it’s doorstep you can head down for a swim and then grab a pint in your bathers! This place is really chilled, however does get EXTREMELY busy in the peak of summer, so make sure you are ready to line up in 40+ degree heat! The Beer Garden has some seriously good DJ’s and you are bound to be dancing until the sun sets.

#4 The Gate Bar and Bistro

This one is for the south-river dwellers and those who want the best meal. At the Gate- everything is big. Big beers, big music, big meals. This place is great for larger groups and is really low-key, plus there is never a huge line and always a good time (that rhymes!).
