Monte Carlo, the largest district in the tiny country of Monaco is the ideal stopover on any France-to-Italy transit.
Monte Carlo is docking station for multimillion dollar yachts, trust fund babies and of course- casino addicts. The Monte Carlo Casino is one of the grandest and famous entertainment complexes in Europe, so don’t expect it to be cheap!
Surrounded by Louis Vuitton and Gucci, Ferrari’s and Lamborghini’s you will feel out of place if your wearing a singlet and sandals! So make your you dress like a star and go out in style (even if McDonald’s is all you can afford!).
So what can the average person on a budget do? I suggest heading down to Larvotto Beach, grabbing a gelato or iced coffee and taking in the views, then head towards the harbor to take in some of the most luxurious yachts in the world (where you might be lucky enough to see a celeb) and finally, up the steep hillside (by foot or bus) to the grand Casino Square for some of the best views and photos Monaco has to offer!
