Heading south of Paris you will find yourself among some of the most unique and beautiful towns in the world. Central France is abundant with tiny hamlets, rivers, lakes and fields that any Roamer will adore. These are my pick of the bunch:
1. Bussiere Poitevine
This tiny commune in the Haute-Vienne region will make you feel as though you stepped into a time machine. Make sure you go for a half day walk through the countryside and find some beautiful farm cows! Some of the healthiest in the world!
Brantôme is a commune in the Dordogne region that is surrounded by flowing rivers, streams and lakes. The food here will melt your taste buds!
3. L’Isle Jourdain
Located in Gascony, this cute little commune is full of exciting things to do- even bungy jumping off these bridges! Plus it has some stunning churches and even a castle!
This town in the Vienne region is known for it’s macaroons… enough said.
